All Set Top Boxes have a Parental Lock system. It is in place for ALL subscribers to AUSTAR, FOXTEL or OPTUS.
The Lockout system is integral to the way you watch Adult Programming and has been set in place to ensure only those subscribers who want to watch Adult "R" rated programmes get to see them.
In particular, the Parental Lockout system is there to prevent children from being able to watch ADULTS ONLY.
Like a lot of systems, it works using a PIN code. The set-up is not complicated but as each system is different it's not possible here to give full details of how your particular Set Top Box works. Your Service Provider will explain the set up to you and you will also find details in the hand book that came with your installation.
However one of the elements they all have in common is that the Default Setting for your Set Top Box means it will automatically block all "R" rated programmes unless you enter your PIN protection code number.
ADULTS ONLY is "R" rated for its erotic and sexual content so can only be viewed by persons 18 years of age and over. The Parental Lockout System is there to ensure you can manage this and we encourage you to use it.
